Steering Committee Job Descriptions: Steering Committee was created to do two (2) primary things: Review all motions prior to them going to our Group Conscience to:
- Ensure they are well-crafted, and
- Ensure they do not break any of our 12 Traditions
WEBSITE COMMITTEE
The “Official” website for A.A. in NEFL is found at https://neflaa.org/. The site has been created, is administered and is maintained as a joint effort by the NE FL Intergroup. These efforts are directed through the joint Website Committee. The Website Committee meets under the direction of the Area Committee, Area Assemblies, Intergroup Trustees and Intergroup Delegates.
ADD A LINE COMMITTEE
The Add-A-Line is a monthly newsletter that shares the experience, strength and hope of AA members in Jacksonville and the surrounding area along with announcements for events. ARCHIVES COMMITTEE
Archives service work involves the collection, preservation and sharing the history of AA. Members by creating traveling displays, interview old timers or make presentations at workshops and conventions. The Archives Committee meets on the first Monday of every month contact Kevin Jr. for zoom information at 12:00pm at the Intergroup Office. ACCESSIBILITY COMMITTEE
Accessibility for All Alcoholics —– Accessibility issues apply to all alcoholics who have difficulties participating in Alcoholics Anonymous, whether those difficulties are mental, physical, geographic, cultural, ethnic, spiritual, or emotional. While there are no special alcoholics, there are alcoholics who face additional personal barriers to accessing the A.A. message. For the purpose of these Guidelines in defining the accessibility issues that many alcoholics face, we refer primarily to persons who have visual and auditory challenges, those who are housebound or chronically ill, those who are living with the effects of brain damage of stroke, and many others who may have less visible challenges. SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
Our Banquets and Fundraisers need over 100 volunteers each. If you haven’t ever been involved in one, you don’t know what you are missing. It’s a blast! If you are willing to donate even a few hours of your time for these vital fundraisers, please contact the Intergroup Office for more information. COOPERATION WITH THE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY AND PUBLIC INFORMATION (CPC/PI)
CPC/PI provides information to clergy, educators, healthcare professionals, lawyers, judges, corporations, government workers and others about what AA is and what it isn’t. They attend health fairs or make presentations at conferences, schools and community events to spread the message of AA. They provide public service announcements to the media and sometimes are asked to do anonymous interviews on the radio or television. The committee meets at 1:00 pm on the first Saturday of the month at the Intergroup Office 3128 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. If you don’t have any outstanding warrants and you are interested in taking meetings into correctional facilities, chairman positions for men and women corrections are available Requirements are a year of sobriety and 5 years of no incarcerations. You can also be a part of the “Bridge The Gap” program, simply pick an inmate up and take them to a meeting then bring them back to the institution. It is a great way to introduce an inmate to a Home Group.

PHONE ARMY
The Phone Army answers the local AA “hotline” whenever the Intergroup Office is closed, ensuring that a knowledgeable person answers the phone when someone reaches out. If interested in volunteering a couple hours a week, please contact the Intergroup Office at 904-399-8535, or Paul F. (925) 980-1770 and you can email us at neflintergroup@gmail.com. If you would like to make an appointment for training during the day Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. call the Intergroup office at 904-399-8535.
TREATMENT COMMITTEE
